Application in the Acoustic Field - Ultrasonic Radar Testing

Sensor Performance Testing

In an acoustic anechoic chamber environment, ultrasonic signals are captured using a high-frequency microphone, and acoustic characteristics are measured in conjunction with a sound pressure level meter.

This primarily tests the acoustic features of the ultrasonic sensor. Key test items include sound pressure, transmitted signal center frequency, ring-down time, and transmission directivity pattern.

Main Components: Acoustic anechoic chamber/box, high-frequency microphone, amplifier, data acquisition system, etc.

Typical Test Items

  • Sound Pressure Level: Drive the ultrasonic sensor to operate normally, then capture the microphone signal via a data acquisition system to measure the sound pressure.

  • Sensitivity: Drive an ultrasonic generator to produce an excitation signal, then read the output value of the ultrasonic sensor through an ultrasonic acquisition system to measure its actual sensitivity.

  • Ring Time & Ring Frequency: Communicate with the sensor module under test via an ultrasonic acquisition system, let the sensor operate normally, and read the Ring Time & Ring Frequency.

  • Directivity: The directivity pattern of the ultrasonic sensor, or the ultrasonic sensor's FOV.
